The value of the station depends on who is travelling. A professional working in the central business district rides the East-West Line straight through to Raffles Place. A household working in the Changi corridor has a one-stop ride to Expo or two stops to the airport. Students heading to schools and institutions along the East-West Line travel without a change, while those going north or into the Downtown Line corridor change at Expo, Bugis or Paya Lebar.

The actual walking route depends on where the development's pedestrian gates sit and on the crossing of New Upper Changi Road, both of which the developer confirms in the site plan.
